By the time the Gang is significantly popular you'll have more rep than you know what to do with. One of the "issues" (from a game balance perspective) is Gangs develop completely independatly from you and your Augment reset cycle. When should you use all your threads on the 'share' instead of boosting your hacking level. From my experience: Cybersec -> Tian Di Hui -> Chongqing -> Aevum -> Other cities -> Nitesec -> Black Hand -> Bitrunners -> Deadalus. Dont forget Sector-12's Cashroot. It took roughly 10-15 minutes to get all my combat skills to over 300 at the powerhouse gym (which i believe is the strongest gym).
